Why cashmere
Cashmere is one of the warmest and softest type of wool.
Mongolian cashmere goats live through very harsh climates (-40°C winters, +40°C summers) for which they need a very insulating coat. The finest the wool, the more it captures air and the more insulation it provides.
But that's also what makes it incredibly soft.
Cashmere wool is collected during the spring moulting season when the goats naturally shed their winter coat.
